I Ran the Fit For Life 10K

Yesterday I ran in Boise's Fit For Life 10k. There was also a 5k and half-marathon. This run was part of the City of Tree's Racing Association. There were about 4 or 5 hundred runners. This was the farthest I had ever run in my life. We got off to a rough start because the starting pistol didn't fire and then we all had to run through a narrow fence at the end of the parking lot at Boise Hawks Stadium. I finished and even ran in the best time for me personally. I ran the 6.2 miles in 68 min so that's 10:58 per mile. Two months ago I was running 12.5 min miles.

There were a few of us from our church there, that was cool. I'm training right now to do the YMCA Sponsored Y-Not-Tri Triathlon. Swim 1/4 mile, Bike 6 miles, Run 2 miles. At least one other person from Broadway is doing the Y-Not-Tri with me, its a great way to build community and do something healthy at the same time. More later.
